Founded in 1955 by freedom fighter Lalbhai Patel, this land was once the Dandeli Ferro Alloys factory - the business that gave birth to the town of Dandeli and thousands of jobs. Four generations on, his descendants still run the land, now as a village for nomads. You're not booking a stay; you're stepping into a living piece of history.

The deeper story

Want the full story of the land?

My dad tells it best - a 40-minute deep dive into Lalbhai's legacy, the factory, and the land's history. Drop your email and it's yours.

The family

Meet the Schaes

As direct descendants of Lalbhai Patel, we're honoured to welcome you into our ancestral home - turned nomad village.

The Schae family - your hosts

The team

Held together by Dandeli

Many of our team worked here in the factory days and carry its stories. Most of Jungli's earnings flow straight back into the local economy - so when you stay, you support a town. ๐Ÿ™

The founder

Built by a nomad, for nomads

I'm Divi - the Audio Nomad. Born in the jungles of Dandeli, I spent a decade in Australia, then three years on the road: a campervan called Spoons across Australia, a backpack-sized studio called Mukti across India. I never found a place in India built for nomads - safe, creative, productive, affordable. So I came home and turned our ancestral land into one.

Hear me talk about building Jungli in public - on the Nomad Cruise stage:

Read the founder's statement

We live in a world that celebrates hustle and drowns us in notifications - where it's hard to see the sky, let alone breathe. Against that, we offer our ancestral slice of paradise in the jungles of South India.

Jungli is a home where the little things - rooms, food, wifi, laundry - are handled, so you can earn back time and do your best work. Where wifi meets wildlife. Where you socialise without pressure, and create without performance, schedule, or noise.

Our Junglis are digital nomads, artists, entrepreneurs and nature-lovers - each on a mission, carving their own path. Our job is simply to find them and welcome them home.

As the global nomad movement grows, Jungli takes its place among hubs like Chiang Mai, Bansko, and Madeira - set apart by the creative conditions, and the sacred energy of the land, that help make your goals a reality.

Diveakssh Schae
Founder, Jungli the Nomad Village

The story continues

From factory workers to remote workers.

This land has always run on people. Lalbhai's factory gave a town its livelihood; today the same soil hosts nomads from around the world - a new community carrying the old spirit forward.
